Job Title: Communications Coordinator

Business Function: Site Operations

Location: Port Sunlight R&D, Wirral

JOB PURPOSRE

This a fantastic opportunity to join the Site Operations Team in our Research & Development facility at Port Sunlight. The site is going through significant organisational and physical changes and so your role in ensuring our consistent and clear communications for our employees is vital.

This role offers you the opportunity to work with a variety of important topics: ensuring safety and sustainability messages are up to date; supporting our employees’ wellbeing; highlighting our work with local charities and communities alongside communicating the amazing achievements from our R&D Teams.

Responsibilities
  • Creating Site communication to drive employee engagement:
  • Play an active role in supporting the Site Leader and Site Team to achieve best-in-class communication and engagement using creative internal communications, in both written and video form.
  • Actively engage with our scientific stakeholders to identify new global innovations, developed within our community, enabling the creation of exciting Site communications.
  • Gather content, create and communicate regular employee newsletters and plasma screen communications.
  • Create high-quality, engaging content using multiple channels such as Sharepoint, Microsoft Teams, Yammer, surveys etc.
  • Implement internal communication campaigns across a variety of platforms/channels.
  • Work as part of a team to deliver employee engagement campaigns to support key internal agendas such as Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing.
  • Create and coordinate the Site internal communication schedule.
  • Support delivery of larger employee engagement events and VIP visits.
  • Connect with peers in Global R&D and UK/Ire to identify communication opportunities.
  • Create and align with the UK/Ire Comms Team re external Site communication.
All About You

Key Skills / Competencies:
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with strong attention to detail.
  • Relationship building, interpersonal and networking skills are critical to this role.
  • High level of IT literacy eg. Microsoft Sharepoint & Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and with a willingness to learn new tools to create high quality comms.
  • A flexible approach and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of communication.
  • Experience creating content such as news stories, videos, power point decks, infographics and other content.
  • Strong planning and organisation skills – ability to manage multiple tasks using prioritisation effective to meet critical deadlines.

  • Delivery of high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrable team commitment, curiosity, and a hunger to learn.
  • Experience in internal and external communications.

Recruitment Fraud

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs.  These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.

How is Unilever tackling this?

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.

What can I do?
