An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Trust for a Communications and Marketing Officer, with strong communications skills and a keen interest in digital and social media, to join our award-winning team.

Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Manager, this key role supports the communications team in building the reputation of Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, working closely with colleagues and partners, to meet both Trust and district-wide objectives. You will be part of a dynamic team that delivers a broad range of marketing communications activity, including campaigns, to support the Trust’s objectives.

The role is a great opportunity for someone who is already working in a communications function, a digital specialist, now looking for an opportunity to step up to the next level.

As home workers, we work closely together as a team and stay connected with daily video catch-ups.

Main duties
  • Supporting the team to deliver the Trust’s communications and marketing activity through a range of tactics including traditional media, print, digital, promotional materials, events, stakeholder engagement and e-bulletins, and guiding internal teams on the most effective content and channels to meet their communication needs.
  • Lead responsibility for providing communications guidance and support for specific services/ teams.
  • Lead responsibility for the corporate content and development of the Trust’s digital activity, including creating and uploading engaging content to the Trust’s websites, social media platforms and creating/ editing short videos.
  • Leading on evaluation of our digital activity to inform our approach – always seeking continuous improvement.
  • Media handling including drafting and issuing news releases to promote the Trust’s work, responding to media enquiries and co-ordinating interviews, and managing the team’s performance reporting.
  • Supporting on delivering the Trust’s annual staff recognition event (You’re a Star Awards), both internally and externally, with lead responsibility for specific areas.
  • Able to translate complex, sensitive or contentious information into accessible content for internal and external audiences
