Job Description

Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership (EHSCP)

Communications and Engagement Manager - 12 month fixed term contract
Waverley Court

Salary dependent on the employing body – NHS Lothian (Band 8A (£45,446 - £51,883) or the City of Edinburgh Council (Grade 9 £44,934 - £53,781)
Hours: 36 per week City of Edinburgh Council, 37.5 per week NHS Lothian

It is an exciting role which has been created to transform communications across EHSCP, developing a more joined up, integrated approach to communications and engagement within EHSCP to support the new and ambitious Edinburgh Integration Joint Board (EIJB) Strategic Plan which launched in August 2019. A single EHSCP communications and engagement point of contact will drive forward the new strategy, producing supporting narratives, building working relationships with communicators in City of Edinburgh Council and NHS Lothian, and with the Scottish media.

In a complex and challenging environment communications and engagement must be focused externally and internally, to ensure that our staff and partners, including the voluntary and independent sectors, are kept informed at a time of rapid transformation.

This postholder will be required to provide strategic communications advice, be forward thinking, proactively manage media attention and react when required and take an active role in developing internal communications.

The EHSCP are continuously working to improve services and ways of working. This includes the way in which EHSCP works with partners and stakeholders. With any change, communications and engagement are key to success. The Chief Officer and wider Executive Management Team consider this post as essential to the future development and success of integration, the EHSCP transformation and the EIJB. If you believe you have the experience, energy and enthusiasm to take on these challenges, we would welcome your application. If you would like an informal discussion about the role, please contact Tony Duncan, Service Director Strategic Planning via email at tony.duncan@edinburgh.gov.uk

Candidates can choose to apply for City of Edinburgh Council or NHS Lothian terms and conditions. The same application process should be followed for both. Please click on the link below to submit your application.
