Job Title: Commissioning Support Officer

Location: Head Office – CITB, Sand Martin House, Bittern Way, Fletton Quays, Peterborough, PE2 8TY

About the role:

The Commissioning Support Officer will establish and maintain programme and project management office functions to monitor and control the delivery of the commissioning work programme and to provide reporting on the Commissioning Portfolio

The role will require excellent communication and analytical skills as it involves working across all aspects of the funding process including performance monitoring, payments, verification general administration and working with a range of external stakeholders at all levels of seniority.

Role Accountabilities: main areas for achieving delivery and results

  • Develop and maintain positive and constructive relationships with relevant external and internal stakeholders.
  • Work with minimum direction to routinely verify and monitor performance of commissions
  • Provide information, advice and guidance about project monitoring, verification and contract compliance.
  • Assist with development and dissemination of communications relating to the commission.
  • Participate in the regular review of project performance, including detailed checks of delivery evidence and data.
  • Maintain accurate records of outputs, outcomes and impacts, as required.
  • Support the documentation of project outputs, outcomes and impacts against performance targets.
  • Actively contribute towards the development and improvement of processes within the wider CITB Commissioning function.
  • Participate in arranging and facilitating best practice sharing activity.
  • Provide any other assistance to the Commissioner as required

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Specific skills set required for successful performance:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, oral and written skills • Ability to work effectively either independently or as part of a team • Ability to plan and work within agreed timeframes and have the flexibility to meet changing and challenging priorities • Ability to accurately and precisely verify evidence received to ensure delivery of contracts. • Strong negotiation skills to resolve performance challenges by creating actions plans whilst maintaining good relationships with all stakeholders and maximising the performance of the commission. • Ability to work across several projects/work streams simultaneously with a variety of stakeholders • Motivated self-starter with strong teamworking skills • High standard of computer literacy (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) • Meticulous attention to detail

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Project management qualification • Experience of monitoring and verifying project delivery • Experience of working with a range of external stakeholders at all levels of seniority, with demonstrable ability to maintain effective relationships

Desirable Qualification, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree and/or relevant experience • Understanding and/or previous knowledge of the construction industry and public funding
