JOB SUMMARY

Due to further expansion we are seeking a dedicated experienced Technician preferably with previous experience and knowledge of PCV/HGV vehicles to join our team. The role of a Technician is to make ongoing repairs to our fleet of vehicles and carry out routine maintenance checks to ensure that vehicles are safe and compliant . We require a good technical knowledge of a wide range of vehicles, a high level of attention to detail and be able to work well whilst maintaining a patient and friendly attitude.

This is an important role within our business and as such will be rewarded with a very competitive salary and great benefits.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carrying our periodic maintenance inspections, servicing and responding to driver reported defects or breakdowns.
  • Repairing or replacing components that are subject to wear.
  • Reading and understanding technical drawings, diagnosing electrical faults with JalTest diagnostic equipment.
  • Testing vehicles once repairs have been completed.

KEY SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS

  • Having excellent knowledge about Commercial Vehicle technology.
  • Initiative and the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Work well as part of a team with the ability to self manage time and complete solo tasks.
  • Enthusiastic, efficient, well-motivated and a positive attitude.
  • Flexible to changing demands of the post.
  • Strong communication skills as well as being methodical and organized.
  • Having good manual dexterity with strong level of concentration.
  • Familiar with automotive equipment and servicing methods.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise and able to follow instructions.
  • Be able to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Understanding of the importance of a robust complete paperwork record.

We require a minimum Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent (i.e. City & Guilds Level 1&2) for this role but would consider other applicants at a diffrent level.
