Salary:£27,000 - £35,000

The Client

Our client are a multi-award-winning provider of self-invested pension schemes, they currently operate over 1,700 pension schemes schemes with assets under administration in excess of £1 billion. They are looking to add and experienced Commercial Property Manager

The Role of Commercial Property Manager

The Commercial Property Manager will specialise in the processes of purchase, sale and rental of commercial properties purchased by the pension schemes we administer. This is an exciting role that is at the forefront of our clients product and business model and is essential to support their customers with their business strategies.

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Commercial Property Manager is an integral role in the business to enable pension schemes with their investment plans and objectives in this specialist area.

As well as managing an ongoing workload, the role will also involve coordinating support given by colleagues, suggesting and integrating new processes and procedures to improve efficiency and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of commercial property laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Duties

Assessing and decision-making regarding proposed property investment for compliance with regulations

Managing the process of commercial property purchases by UK registered self-invested pension schemes

Managing commercial borrowing to assist with these purchases where required

Managing commercial property sales

Managing commercial property leases, renewals and rent reviews

Liaising with solicitors, insurance brokers, valuers, banks and other property-related professionals

Liaising with clients and their advisers

VAT registration and VAT returns

Handling general property-related correspondence and queries

Supporting other colleagues on property-related queries

Communication via telephone, email, letter, video conference and face-to-face

Updating the back-office systems and client files with information and ensuring accuracy of all records and files

Assisting as locum to the other team members

Escalating any operational risks to your Team Leader and the Directors

Knowledge, Skills And Experience Required
  • Experience with commercial property transactions and leasing, ideally within a UK pensions environment
  • Understanding tax laws relating to pension schemes
  • Working in a regulated environment
  • Teamwork
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to explain complex information clearly and simply.
  • Good administrative and computer skills
  • The ability to analyse figures and carry out calculations.
  • Working to deadlines
