Working for a leading technology company who manufacture specialist bespoke products globally, across a range of industry sectors. With a turnover just shy of £2bn and a multiple site presence we are recruiting for a Commercial Product Sales & Innovation Manager
The role of Sales Product Manager will be to provide market intelligence from both a technical and marketing perspective. Its new and key role within the business which reports into the site General Manager.
Being commercially astute, you will identify any emerging markets to support their product and provide the General manager the Technical Marketing analysis to support the decision-making process for business strategy and investment.

You’ll be a highly technical, engineering and operational-orientated individual to ensure the voice of the customer / market is considered in equal measure alongside technical and operational considerations.

  • Develop and produce a strategy to support growth of products and act as the key decision maker for products.
  • Keep abreast of market trends in territories and segments which could affect future product opportunities and developments
  • Identify sales targets by territory based on segment, customer and application knowledge
  • Manage and develop a strong pipeline of new applications. Work closely with customers to develop new business in line with the strategy. Manage the pipeline efficiently to maximise business gained for resource applied.
  • Have a full understanding of manufacturing processes and drivers
  • Manage the internal product management and R&D teams
  • Identify and develop new products and markets
  • Support the other factories producing products
  • Act as a key link between marketing, manufacturing & logistics to forecast demand and capacity planning
  • Initiate, organise and control the information flow and manufacturing on all technical and marketing aspects (e.g. product positioning, pricing, lead times, new Product and material developments and competitor activity).
  • Understand the complete sales process.
  • Work with the team to develop launch packages for new products.
  • Consistently arm the sales force with the sales tools needed to be effective.
  • Develop appropriate test data and specifications for the Product Group. Set relevant targets and goals
  • Translate business strategy into opportunities and commercial priorities
  • Demonstrate ability to define problems, collect necessary data, establish facts and implement/suggest solutions
  • Demonstrate ability to understand/calculate production cost
  • Independently make accurate quotations to the customers
  • Review product costs and process parameters - find activities to reduce these
  • Independently conduct product reviews together with customers
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Good knowledge of the innovation and R&D process
  • 10 years+ experience in product management / business development role in manufacturing environment


Composite material and/or bearing experience would be an advantage

  • Ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve individual and organisational objectives through highly visible and effective personal intervention.
  • A good communicator - both verbally and in writing - of technical and business subject matters.

Fantastic salary of up to £60,000 per annum plus £7200 car allowance, up to 20% bonus (hit the last 3 years) and much more. Great place to work, fantastic transport links close to the M1.
