Connells Group have an exciting new role based in our Chester office, where you’ll be joining a well-established and highly experienced Legal Department.

You will have the opportunity to manage business commercial cases which are litigated and provide instruction to the business. A key part of this role will be to advise the Group of all contentious matters, support the Group and branch network and supervise department staff. Key Responsibilities:

  • To undertake own caseload of contentious cases including live issued cases
  • Instruct and brief counsel as required
  • Manage external solicitors and key stakeholder relationships
  • Provide advice at all levels of the Group – advice which is appropriate legally, commercially and practically
  • Production of letters, pleadings, reports and other output
  • Supervision of Department staff, as required, including qualified and un-qualified staff

Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister
  • At least 5 years’ PQE
  • Substantial experience of commercial litigation including PII
  • Experience of B2C and B2B contentious
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong PC skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
