The Opportunity

Responsibilities

We have the opportunity for you to join our team as a Commercial Executive. The Commercial Executive will support the commercial team with the day to day customer management responsibilities. With strong support, mentoring and coaching you will gradually assume account management responsibilities and start a journey to increase your commercial awareness and abilities and move towards commercial manager role. You will work closely with the commercial manager and support by ensuring all customer data is downloaded and converted into a business update providing insights across the key performance metrics (sales, margin, waste, service etc). In this role you will be:

  • The download and use of customer data to provide a business update but also identify opportunities in conjunction with the category team or commercial manager such as distributions/ROS maximisation, waste reduction or margin opportunities.
  • Accurate management of the commercial forecasts with any change being captured and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all customer administrative tasks are completed in a timely manner and seek senior approval where required. This includes NLF’s, invoicing or promotional proposals.
  • Monitor customer service level by attending morning service call and emailed reports, ensure shorts are fully understand, communicated and any actions are completed.
  • Work in conjunction with the category teams to understand the promotion mechanic impact both from a financial perspective but also vs. the market and understand the customer benefit.
  • Work with development, process, technical and operations to track the progress of NPD/EPD launches to ensure a smooth customer launch. This also includes the delist of products where relevant stakeholders need to manage stocks and suppliers to minimise any write off or stock exposure.
  • Build a strong relationship with the customer buying teams so you are seen as a “go to” knowledgeable individual who is proactive and responsive.
  • Become a key team player by building and driving relationships across all internal functions (business & group).

  • Degree education or equivalent preferred.
  • Food experience preferred but not essential.
  • Competent with all major software packages.
  • Strong leadership potential with good interpersonal and communications kills with the ability to communicate cross functionally and external customers.
  • Strong organisational, and project management skills to assist with deadline delivery.
  • Able to manage and present data to a wider audience in a format that is easy to understand the objective clearly translates.
  • Able to effectively time manage priorities and workloads as well as working to tight deadlines. During these times the individual may request support to ensure the overall business requirement is achieved.
  • Hardworking and passionate with an eye for detail and strong can-do attitude.
