The Role:

We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent customer service skills to join one of our hub teams. Working both remotely and in our claims centre in Cardiff, the successful candidate will take responsibility for setting up new commercial and domestic property and liability claims over the phone and by email. You will allocate to the correct insurer who will then handle the claim. You will also be responsible for updating the system with weekly and monthly updates received from the insurers.

Being the contact point for customers and brokers following an incident you`ll need to be calm, empathetic and reassuring to guide the caller through the claim details. This call is where the claims journey begins.

You`ll be expected to gather all the information available and start the claims process by allocating to the correct insurer. It is essential that we ensure the customer is clear on the claims process and their expectations are managed right from the outset. The successful candidate will be reliable, pro-active and positive.

You’ll also be involved in supporting some of the international accounts in addition to your primary role. We`ll ensure you have the relevant training to do the job and ensure that you`re supported as you learn.

Once you`re established within your field, we`ll also support your career by offering exam sponsorship and the potential to progress within the company.

You will have/will be:

  • Exceptional customer service skills to enable you to deal with Clients, Brokers and Policyholders - training will be provided

  • A positive and pro-active attitude to exceeding client and customer expectations

  • Excellent telephone manner

  • Strong communication skills - both written and oral

  • Accurate keyboard skills

  • IT literacy

  • Basic excel experience

  • Good level of education – at least to GCSE level or equivalent

  • The ability to prioritise your workload effectively

  • The ability to work on your own initiative and take ownership of your own caseload of claims at the same time as working together as a team

  • The ability to develop and maintain a close working relationship with our customers, to promote customer satisfaction

  • Ability to demonstrate understanding and empathy throughout

  • Excellent IT skills
