Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of NGL’s Commercial Analystlocated in London, UK through, October 8th 2021at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
Overview:
Gas Supply and Trading (GSAT) is responsible for marketing Upstream’s gas, NGL’s and LNG production as well as trading 3rd party volumes. With offices in Perth, Singapore, London, Houston and Calgary our global teams procure, transport, and market pipeline and seabourn gas products to maximize the value of Chevron’s Upstream production. We work in close collaboration with Chevron Shipping, Pipeline and Power and third parties to transport gas for internal and external customers around the world.
The International NGL’s team, with personnel in Singapore and London, is tightly integrated with the North America’s NGL’s team, Upstream and Chevron Shipping Company to capture opportunities across the entire well head-to-customer value chain. The team collects and leverages market intelligence to deliver incremental value and enhanced profitability through strategic arbitrage and third-party trading, optimising the Chevron system and proactively managing changing production rates to ensure flow assurance. The team is also engaged in structured trading to risk manage price risk and add value as well as working closely with Origination to develop opportunities for the enterprise in the mid-term time frame.
The International NGL’s desk has a strong track record of developing the trading potential of its Commercial Analysts, giving the analyst execution responsibility for hedging and other trade ideas when the individual has demonstrated their commercial acumen.
Responsibilities of this position may include but are not limited to:
Developing & communicating your short/medium-term Point of View of the NGL’s market through:
analysis of internal & third-party reports and data, price structures and other market intel
maintenance of the global supply and demand balance to support your view, using fundamental analysis modeling and statistical tools
building and continuously improving data-driven models
effectively communicating detailed market analysis both verbally and in writing to local and global teams
working collaboratively as part of global trading teams and with other S&T analysts in London, Houston and Singapore offices to understand the wider energy complex, its impact on NGL’s prices and cross-product opportunities
working collaboratively with Shipping to maintain our Point of View on the NGL’s freight market and its impact on arbitrage values
Contributing to a pipeline of both physical and financial trades ideas in line with the team’s Point of View of NGL’s and freight
Performing ad-hoc tasks such as understanding tender and arb economics, country or competitor analysis in support of the business and to identify market opportunities and trends
Developing a network of external market contacts to enhance market intelligence
Acting as a Subject Matter Expert for NGL’s across the wider Chevron enterprise
Requirements for the role:
Knowledge of global crude, products and gas markets and refining processes
Strong analytical and problem solving skills and an ability to manipulate and make sense of a wide range of data; use of statistical tools, regression modelling etc. are required while technical analysis experience would be beneficial
Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate orally and in written form
Digital mindset and innovative thinker with a proven ability to use technology to provide solutions, efficiencies, develop models
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications (particularly advanced Excel skills, Power BI). Knowledge of VBA and DAX, or other programming skills are preferred
Energised team player who will be able to assume considerable responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on achieving sustainable business results.

Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.
