Location: Cirencester / Home Working

The main purpose of the role is to manage the effective operational delivery of key projects within the Large and Medium Partner Business Units (LMBU) finance function. This will include leading analytical and commercial finance projects from inception to completion, the delivery of financial consulting solutions and project management capability into the LMBU.

The successful candidate will not only be comfortable working and analysing financial data in a dynamic environment, but also be confident enough to discuss outputs with peers to find and influence solutions. They should have a keen interest in project management and seek to develop a real depth of financial consulting experience.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Establishing standard processes and procedures to ensure an effective and successful delivery of LMBU finance initiatives both internally and into the Partner practices.
  • Developing strong influencing relationships within the LMBU and wider SJP environment to drive operational efficiency improvement, demonstrating critical financial consultancy skills with a view to directing partner business relationships from a finance perspective.
  • Providing support to LMBU Partner businesses with finance related matters
  • Responsibility of analysing a range of finance metrics to aid Corporate decision making and carrying out financial appraisal of issues which impact the owner managed financial advisory businesses within SJP and apply findings to similar SJP businesses and the wider Corporate
  • Working as an integral part of the LMBU Finance team to actively track and manage the key partner business specific engagement plans in conjunction with the practice business partners
  • Assisting in the preparation, documentation and follow up for scheduled monthly and quarterly practice finance meetings for select LMBU firms
  • Assisting in the development and deployment of the LMBU finance KDM programme
  • Contributing to the deployment and roll out of Practice Financial Health Checks in conjunction with the business partnering function and wider LMBU finance

We are looking for a candidate who has:
  • The ability to develop deep relationships with both internal and external contacts, including Partners and external Professional Advisers, maintaining confidentiality & managing key sensitivities around financial planning & results at all times
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build robust relationships and strong Excel knowledge (eg pivot tables and complex financial modelling)
  • Effective influencing skills to obtain information and support from other people in order to deliver cross departmental projects
  • A drive to learn and develop with enthusiasm to challenge and influence across the wider team
  • Part Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred and financial services experience and expertise is of benefit, but not essential
  • Commercial awareness with a focus on delivering results

Special Requirements
  • Travel within the UK may be required on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Flexibility to work from home and across multiple office locations.
