An exciting vacancy has arisen within our Finance Team for a Commercial Accountant to join the team. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance - UK Revenue, the main purpose of this role is to act as the Finance business partner to the Residential sales team, supporting and challenging activities within the largest revenue division within the business therefore has a major impact on the sales and profitability of the company.

As a Commercial Accountant, you will:

• To provide excellent and timely financial advice and data to the Commercial team in order to maximise the sales and margin performance of the business
• To develop excel / BI / Power pivot / other reporting tools in order to provide, develop and improve management reporting on a continual basis for our brands
• To analyse and review product, sector and customer profitability on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, in comparison with budgets, forecasts and prior years
• To take a key role in the preparation of the monthly management accounts
• To assist the Commercial team with all financial matters in order to enhance the decision making process
• To provide a very strong IT capability for the finance department in order to further develop commercial reporting and data excellence.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

• Qualified accountant (ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA)
• Demonstratable accounting experience, preferably in a similar business partnering role
• Advanced capability in Excel, Cognos BI (or alternative reporting or data mining tools)
• Flexible with close attention to detail
• Enthusiasm and energy, professionalism, and integrity
• Confident and able to communicate effectively
• Pragmatic and credible with non-accountants
• Commercial acumen a must, able to identify trends and develop detailed understanding of complicated distribution chain
• The ‘conscience’ of the commercial team
