CNC Setter/Operator, Crewkerne, Permanent, £33,750 PA

Smart Recruitment is proud to represent a global developer and manufacturer of a specialised range of high-specification hydraulic motion control solutions. Due to continued expansion they need to add cnc Setter/Opertorsto their Machine Shop machining team, and require a CNC programmer/ setter/operator. Their aim is to hire people and use their existing skills, whilst also providing further training, skills and exposure to different machining techniques, and different machining equipment. It provides the opportunity to become part of a cross functional team at a company that has many opportunities for advancement within their group, and within their company as a whole.

As well as standard expectations for a machinist, you will be familiar with Fanuc and also be capable of creating methods (including tool selection) and program/partial program and/or prove out machines in your area from finish or stage drawing. You’ll create and follow tooling, set up sheets and CNC programs in order to set CNC machines to machine components within the required tolerances and within the specified setting time. Ideally you’ll also be able to identify and implement alternative tooling solutions to improve processes.

The position would involve alternating shift work – early shift week one and late shift week 2.

This role attracts a competitive salary plus shift allowance. Overtime is available as and when the business requires it. (i.e. not guaranteed)
