Roots Systems Ltd, World Leaders in the design, manufacture and production of skid mounted rotary compressors for the oil and gas industry. Due to our continual production expansion we are currently looking to recruit a CNC Machinist based in Stonehouse to join our Team. The hours of work are 38 hours per week as follows:

  • CNC Horizontal Borer with Fanuc Control – Night Shift.
  • CNC Vertical Machining Centre with Fanuc Control –Night Shift
  • CNC Vertical Machining Centre with Fanuc Control - Rotational shifts 6-2, 2-10 pattern
  • CNC and Conversational Programming (Hurco) – Night Shift
  • CNC Lathe with Fanuc Control – Rotational 6-2, 2-10 Shift Pattern.

To join our Team you will need to be a motivated, highly organised and experienced CNC machinist. You will be required to setup and run multiple machines simultaneously whilst ensuring quality and output are maintained to the required level.

It will be essential to have CNC milling and CNC programming experience (preferably with Haas however other control systems will be considered e.g., Fanuc (G Code), Mazatrol (mazak), or Siemens. Candidates having the ability to work across different machines would be an advantage.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • To program, set and operate our Haas VF2S & VF4 with Pallet changer to produce accurate components, working to drawings and specifications
  • Self-inspect components and report any manufacturing errors to line manager so corrective action can be agreed
  • Ensure that production requirements are met in line with the production schedule
  • Continually assess tool condition and maintain as necessary.
  • Always looking at decreasing run times and decreased down times through good set ups and enablement coupled with personal motivation.

The ideal candidate will need to have excellent attention to detail and possess the drive to learn and develop. A team player with the ability to work using their own initiative. You will have a positive attitude, good timekeeping and a willingness to be flexible for business requirements including overtime and weekend working.
