McGeoch Technology Ltd. Have an exciting opportunity for the position of a CNC Machinist reporting directly to the Production Manager. The successful applicant will be based at our production, assembly and test facility in Birmingham City Centre, where we design, manufacture, and repair a range of products and services for defence and industrial markets including ATEX Lighting, Electrical Distribution, Instrumentation and Control solutions.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Production Manager, and as part of the CNC Milling Team, you will be responsible for programming, setting & operating one or two 4 Axis CNC milling machines at a time, predominately working with Stainless Steels and nonferrous metals.

Your duties will include but not limited to the following.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY / EXPERIENCE

- Setting & operating of CNC machinery on the section

- Adhering to company manufacturing procedures

- Conforming to specified engineering and quality standards

- Using various types of measuring equipment to ensure parts conform to drawing.

- Supporting operators within the section to meeting departmental targets.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

- A ‘can do’ attitude is essential, we are a small close-knit team that requires flexibility from its members.

- Experience as a setter-operator utilising 3 Axis CNC milling machines.

- Strong understanding of CNC milling and manufacturing processes.

- Able to read mechanical drawings and understand manufacturing tolerances, both in imperial and metric.

- Be able to understand and meet departmental targets.

- Capability of programming CNC Machines, Mazatrol preferred but others considered

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:

- Capable of understanding & altering ISO Programmes.

- Performed in a setter-operator role using Mazak machinery.

- Fundamental LEAN manufacturing knowledge.

- Understand and adhere to 5S standards.
