Due to continued growth, we have an immediate vacancy for a Cloud Solutions Architect to become a key player in our team to be involved with end-to-end project delivery from pre-sales, project scoping, leading on delivery and customer hand-over/sign-off. With a wide range of projects from Serverless APIs, CloudFront Single Page Applications, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence with AWS Rekognition and SageMaker to large scale migrations to the cloud the role offers a fantastic opportunity for growth, upskilling and no two days being the same.

This role can be fully remote based in the UK, all applicants must be based in the Uk and have ’Right to Work’ in the UK status.

Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end project delivery from quoting, scoping, delivery and sign-off
  • Enforcing AWS architectural best practices
  • Ensuring customer communications are managed and expectations are aligned
  • Leading on projects to ensure a high standard and successful delivery to exceed customer expectations
  • Working closely alongside other Solutions Architects to build highly scalable, performant and cost-effective solutions
  • Acting as a point of escalation to guide and support Cloud Engineers to resolve complex operational issues
  • Workload management to balance and prioritise projects based on customer requirements and impact
  • Periodically reviewing customer architectures to identify improvement and implement best practices when appropriate
  • Leading on large scale migrations alongside Project Management as part of the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP)
  • Identify architecture and infrastructure solutions to then proposal and build into a repeatable product for other customers
  • Participation in a 24/7 on call rota
  • Keeping up to date with AWS best practice and developments
  • Occasional attendance at in-person client meetings and company events.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 year’s experience utilising Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • A minimum of 1 AWS Professional Certifications (Solution Architect or Dev Ops Professional)
  • Experience in system architecture design, particularly AWS related
  • Previous experience of project scoping and gathering customer requirements to identify complex needs and solutions
  • Security focused to ensure all projects are watertight to prevent any malicious activity
  • Able to work on your own initiative and as a part of a team
  • Highly motivated individual who will drive the business forward to support our continued period of growth
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage a varied and busy workload.

Beneficial

Great to have:

  • Infrastructure as Code experience in CloudFormation, Terraform, SAM or Serverless Framework
  • CI/CD pipelines including CodePipeline
  • Designing Microservices and Serverless Architectures
  • Docker containers with Kubernetes (EKS) or AWS Elastic Container Service (ECS)
  • Working with large migration datasets to identify trends, migration strategies and target architectures.
