An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cloud Consultant to join well established organisation

a Snapshot Of What You Will Be Doing

Firstly, the configuration, deployment, testing, maintenance, monitoring as well as trouble resolutions of cloud infrastructure components, so to provide a robust, industry standard platform.

By example, this includes configuration and maintenance of a Microsoft Azure landing zone, server and networking environment, together with any future cloud based platforms. Additionally, migrate current subscriptions to conform with the Azure landing zone design.

Secondly, monitor cloud platforms for failures as well as performance problems. Supporting this, respond to incidents logged in the Incident Management system. Subsequently, provide end users with a technical solution. Crucially, all within Service Level Agreements.

To support this, identify and escalate service issues accordingly. As such, escalate and work with vendors when required.

Thirdly, work with internal business units to research, evaluate, test, pilot, document, implement as well as transition into support teams new Azure based solutions.

Furthermore, support, install, maintain, and troubleshoot server, storage and related software for data centre infrastructure. As such, verify, approve, recommend and deploy changes adhering to the ITIL change management process.

Additionally, provide technical assistance as well as co-ordinate with business owners so to complete project requirements. Supporting this, implement and administer scheduled tasks. Importantly, act as point of technical escalation and expertise.

Fundamentally, act as a role model for technical competence, helpfulness, facilitation of learning and teamwork.

Proactively maintain and develop technical accreditations, knowledge, skills and experience through vendor contact, industry sources, formalised training and development plan.

Lastly, support internal IT Consultants to better understand issues and solutions.

Essential Key Skills, Experience And Attributes

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar SLA driven role.

Excellent customer service skills.

Crucially, working with the Microsoft Azure platform.

Proven experience supporting complex cloud based and on premise infrastructure.

Hands on experience using Terraform, so to create and maintain Azur infrastructure.

Additionally, landing Zone operating model.

High Proficiency with Powershell.

Usage of Github Enterprise and, or other GIT related SCMs.

Understanding of DevOps mentality, tools as well as concept.

Solid understanding of server, storage, cloud and backup technologies.

Industry recognised qualifications in relevant areas of the Microsoft Azure Platform.

Knowledge of IT security concepts and best practice.

ITIL Service Operations Framework. In particular, Incident, Change, Problem and Major Incident

Management.

Desirable Skills And Experience

Previous experience implementing a landing zone in a ’hub-and-spoke’ model.

Good knowledge of Azure virtual networking experience.

Understanding of GitOps model.

Knowledge of cost saving techniques in Cloud deployment. For example, Autoscaling

groups, storage optimisation, etc.

Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipeline.

Hands on knowledge of VMware environments - 6.7.
