We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated Communities and Lifelong Learning Worker to work within the Adults and Communities Team. The successful candidate will undertake neighbourhood based project work in the Dalkeith and Woodburn areas in line with identified local need. They will work proactively with partners and colleagues to reduce inequalities and increase participation in learning opportunities.

Days and times of work can be negotiated to meet the needs of the service and the successful candidate.

Knowledge

It is essential that the post holder has extensive experience of delivering communities and lifelong learning programmes and projects including delivery of accredited opportunities. It is desirable that they have supervised either volunteers and or staff.

It is essential that the postholder has one or more qualification at SCQF Level 8 (or higher) or equivalent work experience/ qualifications in Community Education or Teaching or Employability or Social Policy or equivalent relevant communities and lifelong learning experience including trade certificates. It is desirable that they hold verifier and assessor qualifications acceptable to SQA and other accreditation bodies.

It is essential that the post holder has experience of planning community learning and development interventions, programmes and projects.

It is desirable that they have experience of supporting internal or external working groups to lead on key communities and lifelong learning themes

Based on you working 21 hours and 45 minutes over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £19,401.60 per annum.
