Intro

An exciting opportunity has arisen for either an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to take up the post of Band 7, Team Manager for the Acute Medical Therapies Team. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated therapist with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. You must be organised, flexible and able to empower others, with the ability to implement and drive change across the service.

Key responsibilities will include the support and development of therapy staff, with an understanding of clinical governance and risk management. You will be responsible for the day to day management of the Acute Medical Therapy Service and be able to identify quality improvement opportunities, including the review and evaluation of service pathways.

The team provides therapeutic care across 8 in-patient wards. An in depth understanding and experience of working within the specialist area of Frailty and clinical skills to effectively deliver personalised patient care is essential to this post.

Additionally, the postholder will have a comprehensive understanding of the ‘Home First’ approach to patient care, where health and care systems work together to provide a safe and timely discharge of people who no longer need to stay in hospital.

Position

Alongside, day-to day management of the team, the postholder will work collaboratively with the wider MDT to progress service changes required to enhance patient care, and experience.

The postholder will have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the importance of improving patient flow within the hospital setting, specifically within the acute therapies bed base.

The postholder will have clinical experience of working within this speciality.

The working hours for this post will be 37.5 hours - over 5 working days which will include Saturday and Sunday working.

Based across the Trust sites for therapy services including Warrington Hospital, Lovely Lane, Warrington WA5 1QG and Halton Hospital, Hospital Way, Runcorn WA7 2DA
