The Research Delivery Team at West Middlesex University Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Leader for its Women’s Health Research Team. The Team Leader will have managerial and leadership responsibility for a small team of experienced research midwives and clinical trial assistants/CRPs, covering NIHR and commercial research in all areas of women’s health including pregnancy, childbirth and gynaecological medicine.The post holder will work within a well-established research delivery leadership team at West Middlesex University Hospital and will act in partnership with the Women’s Health Research Team Leader at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital.
  • Day to day management of the Women’s health Research Team, including attendance and performance management. This will require the ability to delegate tasks to ensure adequate time for effective management.
  • Overall responsibility for study workflow, including Expressions of Interest, Feasibility, Study Set-Up, Recruitment to time and target and study close out.
  • Responsibility for the clinical and phycological safety of women and their families in line with the NMC Code and Trust policies and guidelines.
  • Maintaining the profile of research within clinical areas though networking and engaging colleagues, including teaching and representing the research team at Unit, Hospital, Trust and LCRN level.
  • Supporting existing Principle Investigators and identifying and training new PIs, from both medical and NMAHPP groups of staff.
  • Leading on a study portfolio (for an average of 75% of the working week, with around 25% management time).
  • Representing the Lead Research Nurse and fellow Team Leaders as required.
  • Contributing to the expansion of the overall research portfolio at West Middlesex University Hospital.
