The Rehabilitation Service in North Wales currently comprises 32 inpatient beds, located in Llanfairfechan, Rhuthin, Bodelwyddan and Wrexham, in addition to two Community Rehabilitation Teams which cover eastern and central/western areas of BCUHB. We aim to provide a high quality, evidence based and psychologically informed service to individuals with a range of complex needs and experiences in order to optimise their recovery through a process of comprehensive multi-disciplinary and bio-psycho-social assessments, formulation and interventions. Psychological interventions may be provided on an individual and group basis. Our goal is also to maximise an individual’s abilities and encourage the development of new skills in order to achieve a life worth living. Our service users have a wide range of presentations, ages and backgrounds; severe psychotic phenomena are common, but also include young people with socially and emotionally unstable histories. Balancing risk, whilst promoting recovery and personal growth is a constant challenge which the service endeavours to meet. Within the multi-disciplinary team there is a focus on creating a positive, hopeful environment, with an emphasis on supporting the individual to take responsibility and gain independence.
