Main duties of the job
These are permanent positions covering the counties of Gwynedd and Anglesey. The successful candidate will provide a service to children and young people (0-18 years old), and their families, where the young person has severe mental health difficulties, with a particular emphasis on eating disorders. One post holder will also work on the delivery of parenting interventions within the service.
Essential components of clinical psychologists’ work in CAMHS are to provide assessments, develop working formulations, and offer appropriate interventions to the young person and their family. The successful candidate will work closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team, and will offer consultation and supervision to their colleagues as appropriate. They would be expected to take opportunities to display leadership in relation to service improvement initiatives, and would also be supported in conducting appropriate audits and research. There will also be an expectation to be involved in the teaching and supervision of trainees on the North Wales Clinical Psychology programme.
