Based at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford we have a vacancy to join our highly motivated pharmacy team as a Band 7 Clinical Pharmacist with a focus on supporting our paediatric patients. The successful applicant will join our Paediatric Pharmacy Team which alongside this role includes an Advanced Specialist Pharmacist in Paediatrics and Neonatology and a Clinical Pharmacy Technician in Paediatrics.

The Trust offers a comprehensive range of services and specialities and provides an ideal base to enable pharmacists to further develop their professional and clinical skills. Those candidates who are not currently an independent prescriber will be supported and funded to undertake the qualification.

The post holder will possess experience of hospital pharmacy. You will be able to produce high quality work both on your own and as part of a team. A postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy is essential.

To carry out duties in Clinical Pharmacy Services at ward and department level. Work closely with Consultants and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective and efficient use of medicines.

To link in with the Paediatric speciality to become a non-medical prescriber, attendance at speciality meetings, provision of medicines utilisation reporting to paediatrics and pharmaceutical support and review of medicines related policies and procedures.

To study for, and successfully qualify as an Independent Prescriber.

Due to investment and the development of new roles, there are several new opportunities available within our department. The Trust managed to secure £312 million from HM Treasury to fully develop the facilities and services within SaTH. The Government has formally announced that it intends to introduce regulations that will require any individuals employed by the NHS where their role involves patient contact, to be fully vaccinated (1st and 2nd dose) against COVID-19 by1st April 2022.To achieve this the successful applicant must have had their 1st COVID-19 vaccination by3rd February 2022. Therefore, full COVID-19 vaccination will be a condition of employment unless an individual is medically exempt. We will ask for proof of vaccination during the recruitment process.
