, NHS, Weston General Hospital (Band 6 £31,365.00-£37,890.00) + excellent NHS benefitsThere is an exciting opportunity to join our small, dedicated team of Breastcare Clinical Nurse Specialists at North Bristol NHS Trust. We provide the Breastcare services for a large catchment area and deliver services at Weston General Hospital and Southmead Hospital sites.Predominantly based on the Weston General site you will have the opportunity to work between both surgical centres, cross-covering at Southmead and Weston, enabling you to feel part of the whole breastcare service.We offer the full range of Breastcare surgical services and are one of the largest cancer specialties in the southwest. You will get a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and clinical practice in an important and well-supported specialty as a key part of a close-working multi-disciplinary team.THE ROLE: As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Breast Care, your responsibilities will include:
  • To provide specialist nursing advice underpinned by theory and experience to support patients and their families/carers whom have a new diagnosis of breast cancer or whom have progressed into the metastatic phase
  • To plan, develop, improve and promote the breast cancer service, ensuring the delivery of high quality, cost effective, patient centred care
  • To develop and share expertise within the multidisciplinary team
  • To deploy high level skills in order to provide effective communication systems of support for patients
YOU: The successful Clinical Nurse Specialist in Breast Carewill have good experience:
  • In communication skills (training at Level 3 or equivalent)
  • In caring and managing patients with a breast cancer diagnosis
  • In the ability to work as an effective team member but also autonomously
  • In being adaptable and flexible to meet the changing needs of the service
