We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual, who is interested in an administration role within our department. Please see the person specification for full apprenticeship requirements.

This is a 14 month fixed term contract , 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday working between 8.00am to 6.00pm. If successful there may be the opportunity to secure a permanent position.

The scheme is run in partnership with Telford College, delivered on site to ensure that you are supported through a high quality training programme; you will be required to undertake an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Customer Services Level 2. Study time will be allocated within your working hours to achieve completion of the apprenticeship qualification.

Main duties of the job

As an apprentice you will support service delivery within the Oncology & Haematology Centres at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by carrying out a full range of clerical duties and providing excellent customer service. The role will include a mixture of administration duties working within a busy office environment including assisting with record keeping (paper and electronic), communication with people on the telephone and in person, use of photocopier, PC, telephone and filing systems and reception duties.

Working for your organisation

The Lingen Davies Centre and O’Connor Haematology Unit Departments care for cancer patients within outpatient Clinics and Day Units delivering chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy treatments.

You will be working as part of an Administration Team that are caring, friendly and helpful in making a great first impression when patients/visitors arrive at the Departments. The Administration Teams play a vital role in supporting our Health Professionals to provide the very best care.
