2023 is continuing to provide sustainable growthwithin OCU Group. Due to this growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Civils Engineer to join our busy HS2 Project based across Aylesbury and Brackley. The purpose of this role is the development of project support documentation; Method Statements, ITPs, Construction Process, Engineering Specifications, Temporary Works Brief, Setting out and measurement, Quality Control, Certificate and Compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the technical standards are maintained in all aspects of signalling project work.
  • Establish records; calibration documents and check registers for all instruments on site, including subcontractor’s instruments. Keep accurate records for excavations, reduce dig, concrete pours, reinforcement.
  • Monitoring the planning/progress of works and ensure that the development, design, construction and testing targets are met, and effect remedial action where required.
  • Record ongoing works activity and progress by undertaking daily checks of various sites, by measurement and recording information, taking photos, and using GPS/TOTAL STATION to accurately plot newly installed utility service routes and other related construction works.
  • Accurate setting out reference points as per construction /designs.
  • Create, amend, as-build records, editing, validation, publication etc. and submission of service records.
  • Creation, preparation, and amendment of AUTOCAD technical or geographic drawings, documentation.
  • Take samples for testing and recording purposes.
  • Setting up / checking / maintenance of GNSS, levels and total station equipment’s.
  • Create/Follow standards for final products deliveries. (Plans, data)
  • Preparing and filling street-work documents for Council and client.
  • Client liaison and customer management.
  • Assist with the preparation and production of tender and handover documentation in Civil, Water and Electric Projects

  • Temporary Works Appointed Person (Temporary Work Supervisor).
  • Deep Excavation qualification.
  • Confined Spaces qualification.
  • Working at Height appreciation.
  • IOSH/ NEBOSH.
  • UMSTS / SMSTS.
  • NSWA Supervisor.
  • Blue Card Water Hygiene & Thames Water Passport.
  • NERWS Accredited.
  • Total Station
  • AutoCAD
