The civil and infrastructure sector in New Zealand is already busy, and with a significant amount of work coming online at the end of this year, contractors are scouring the globe for the right experience to add to their team. My client is one of the leading civil and infrastructure contractors in New Zealand, celebrating a successful portfolio of challenging projects throughout the country. Specialising in major projects and heavy civil works, they cover areas such as marine, road, earthworks/land development, water and structures. They have projects already underway around the country with a pipeline of activity stretching well into the future.They have a proven track record of hiring international candidates, appreciating that these candidates offer unique knowledge and experience, sometimes not available in New Zealand, which helps to keep this contractor at the forefront of the industry. They have hired successfully from the UK and Ireland in the past, and due to the similarities between the civil & infrastructure sectors in both locations, continue to do so.As part of this international policy they are looking to take advantage of one of their senior managers visiting the UK in August and want to interview a variety of candidates for positions around New Zealand. They did this previously back in June and those candidates are now receiving offers and signing contracts. They are looking for candidates to fill a variety of roles, knowing that the experience they find will be a good fit for the positions they have in New Zealand. Positions of interest include;
  • Civil engineers 2+ years’ experience
  • Project engineers 5+ years’ experience
  • Sub Agents 7+ years’ experience
  • Site Agents 10+ years’ experience
  • Quantity surveyors 3+ years’ experience
The positions above are fairly generic and so regardless of your civil and infrastructure experience there is likely to be a need in your specialist space. These positions are the primary focus for this visit but I would encourage anyone with an interest in coming to New Zealand, with civil and infrastructure experience, to also make themselves known.Successful candidates will be offered an excellent salary, in relation to their experience, as part of a package that will include immigration and relocation assistance. This is a great civil contractor, who on top of a good package offers personal development and career advancement to their employees. If this is of interest to you, or you’d just like to know a little more, get in touch with Phil via +6421489367 or send a copy of your CV to pponder@catalystrecruitment.co.nz.
