~ Civil Enforcement Officers ~

Spencer Clarke Group are working in partnership with Cheshire West & Chester Councilto appoint 9x Civil Enforcement Officersto their Traffic Management Team.

3 - 6 Month agency contract with a view to being extended on an ongoing basis.

Full Time Hours, (37 Hours)

You will be required to either start early, work evenings or late nights (5 days out of 7 days)

Location – Chester, CH1.

Rate of Pay - £11.50+ per hour – Negotiable depending on experience.

  • Previous experience in local authority enforcing parking legislation and Traffic Regulation Orders, including issuing penalty charge notices and recording good evidence.***

    About the Role;

    To help improve traffic management and make for a safe and more pleasant environment in Cheshire West & Chester by performing the role of a Civil Enforcement Officer, ensuring Traffic Regulation Orders, parking regulations and restrictions on and off street are observed.

    Key Responsibilities;

    • To help improve traffic management and make for a safe and more pleasant environment in Cheshire West & Chester by performing the role of a Civil Enforcement Officer, ensuring Traffic Regulation Orders, parking regulations and restrictions on and off street are observed.
    • Contribute to the Authority’s success in addressing challenges to penalty charge notices and complaints from members of the public.
    • Gather good quality evidence, by conscientiously and consistently making contemporaneous notes of patrol and enforcement activity (e.g. evidence in support of penalty charge notices, conversations with members of the public and missing signs).
    • Provide verbal and written reports (including witness statements) to support enforcement activity including incidences of violence or obstruction; vehicle drive-aways and non-parking misdemeanours taking place in the community.
    • Participate in adjudications as required.
    • Assist with approaches from members of the public responding politely and in a professional manner.
    • Educate members of the community (including local businesses) and members of the public in order to help understanding of and to increase compliance with regulatory matters.
    • Provide advice on parking matters including how formal complaints, informal representations and parking appeals can be made.
    • Contribute to the reduction in the number of challenges against penalty charge notices.
    • Checking that parking signs and notices are accurate and legible.
    Job Requirements;

    • Eligibility to work in the UK. (Passport etc.)

    • UK driving license and access to a car.
