- Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent
- Diploma 5 in Leadership & Management Children & Young People (or willing to work towards)
- Considerable management experience working with young people in a residential setting
- Proven management experience at a senior level
- Budget management skills and experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Oversee all staff and operations within the home, ensuring adherence to policies and regulations
- Manage labour costs, staffing structures, and rotas to meet children’s needs and budget requirements
- Develop and implement intervention strategies for behaviour management
- Ensure effective delivery of individual care plans and high standards of care
- Promote an open culture where children feel heard and supported
- Maintain records and ensure compliance with confidentiality regulations
- Support staff development and provide supervision as needed
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies
- Safeguard the health and well-being of children and promote anti-discriminatory practice
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside normal office hours and be on call
- Full driving license and willingness to provide cover to other homes when needed
