Job title: Child Support Worker – KS1-KS3 Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire Pay: £10 - £11 per hour Salary is dependent on experience, training and qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are 6 months relevant experience working with Children or Adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism in a similar setting or care environment. This is a full-time role and at this time we are not accepting part time applications for this position. Job type: Contract, Full time The Role: As a Child Support Worker, you will be supporting children on a 1:1 basis with their daily routine at school and assisting them to take part in activities which will enhance their sensory skills. The children you will be supporting have various complex needs such as visual and hearing impairments, physical disabilities, dyslexia, autism and ADHD. You will work alongside various health care professionals like physiotherapists, occupational therapists etc to support each child with their personalised learning plans and cater to their individual needs. The School: The environment in which you will be working is in a Special School located in the Boston Spa / Wetherby area. The school caters for children and young people aged between 2 to 19 years who experience learning in both primary classes, secondary classes and beyond for the older pupils. All pupils have an education, health and care plan and lessons are delivered with the needs of every pupil in mind to support them with reaching their long-term goals. Requirements: To be considered for the Child Support Worker position, you will: Have a genuine passion to work with young people with special needs and SEMH. Have 6 months minimum experience working in a similar role. Be resilient. This role is very rewarding but does not come without its challenges. Be able to demonstrate empathy and patience. Have, or be willing to obtain a DBS on the update service. Recent relevant experience within the last two years.
