Automotive (EV)

A unique, exciting opportunity to work for a highly successful company who work within emerging EV technologies to build, refurbish, and convert vehicles into zero emission powertrains.

We are looking for an experienced Chief Engineer who will lead all engineering activities and teams within this niche industry and ensure that all vehicles are safe, well-engineered, and satisfy customer requirements

Key Responsibilities

Translate customer requirements into technical specifications for each vehicle and its subsystems.

Work closely with project management team to create work packages for each vehicle and set realistic milestones

Delegate specifications and create management structure to ensure that engineering team understands development gateways and stays on schedule.

Develop and maintain engineering standards which include mechanical design for high voltage, battery systems, power electronics, and wiring/routing.

Sign off on safety-critical engineering tasks such as core software logic, seatbelts, batteries, etc.

Guide the leads and their teams through personal and professional development program and constantly practice strong leadership and management to build a strong work culture.

Communicate engineering activity across teams and upper management to ensure that vehicle development gateways involve relevant stakeholders.

Develop technology roadmap for all subsystems moving forward and manage plan to achieve it.

Assume role as technical expert for vehicles during internal and external cross-functional events

Key Requirements

MSc degree in mechanical engineering

8+ years in automotive industry

Experience in EV / PHEV development

Demonstrated experience growing and leading teams

Excellent communication skills

Motivated for continued EV development and sustainability
