Chef de PartieIf you’re looking to work in a hotel in the seaside town of Torquay on the English Riviera, look no further than the iconic Headland Hotel and Spa. This 3* hotel has 78 elegant guest rooms and suites, most with heart-stopping views of Torbay and the South Devon coastline or overlooking our picturesque, perfectly manicured garden. Our team at the Headland are renowned for being amongst the most friendly and engaging team to work with in the local area.
As Chef de Partie you will run specific section in the kitchen, and report to the Sous Chef and Head Chef.
Location: Headland Hotel & Spa, Daddyhole Road, Torquay, Devon, TQ1 2EF

Your Role
- Follow and implement all existing S.O.P.’s.
- Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes within the speciality section
- Assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes
- Preparing meat and fish
- Assisting with the management of health and safety
- Assisting with the management of food hygiene practices
- Managing and training any Commis Chefs
- Assist on overseeing the maintenance of kitchen and food safety standards.
- Anticipate any guests needs, follow up and ensure that the guest’s expectations are met and where possible exceeded.
- Attention to detail on all aspects of the job.
- Take ownership and responsibility ensuring you are working effectively.
- Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence.
- Any other reasonable tasks asked to be performed by the management according to the changing business needs.
- Ensure proper grooming and hygiene standards for all kitchen staffs.
- Participates in regular departmental meetings and continually communicates a clear and consistent message regarding goals to produce desired results.
- Receiving and unpacking all deliveries.
- Cleaning and sanitizing all meal preparation areas as well as kitchen walls, stoves, sinks, ovens, and grills.
- Ensuring that refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas are clean and well-organized.
- Support your colleagues and assist coaching new starters through their probation periods.
