Chef de partie- Cambourne Village College


With a reputation for excellent service and fabulous food we always put our customers first and as one of our chefs we expect you to want to do the same. By developing a great working relationship with clients, teams and customers alike you will be able to ensure the catering contract you are part of is always growing in the right direction.

There are three basic ingredients for this role:


The Food

  • You will show passion for the food you create and serve, be passionate about the ingredients and you will ensure your team deliver a consistently high level of food quality.
  • By agreeing, monitoring and maintaining standards and objectives with your team and your client, your commitment to food excellence means that the standard of food service delivery in your sites meets the Pabulum criteria
  • You will assess the food service offer and identify how to deliver required improvements through a site development programme and action plan
  • You will support the team in ensuring our standards for fabulous fresh food are maintained by ordering the right food from the right place at the right time


The People - our clients, teams and customers

  • Happy customers always come back for more, so we expect you ensure they have an excellent customer experience.
  • You will serve customers in a pleasant, friendly manner, whether working behind the counter, or on the till, or elsewhere on site.


About you

  • You will have a craft back ground with qualifications to match
  • The ability to communicate effectively to clients, site teams and customers alike.
  • You’ll need to be friendly and approachable and able to build relationships with our clients and regular customers
  • Loyalty and flexibility together with a passion for food is a must.
  • You’ll get essential training on Food Hygiene and Health & Safety and there’s plenty of opportunity to further your career.
  • Present yourself in a professional well-groomed manner, in the correct Pabulum uniform, which includes a name badge.


About the Role

  • 35 hours per week
  • September start
  • 8:00am- 3:00pm
  • Monday - Friday


As you will be working in Education, you must provide two employment/character references and we’ll also carry out an Enhanced DBS / Criminal Record Check as well (which we’ll pay for).
