Estates and Facilities are looking for dynamic and committed Chargehand Electrician to assist the Team Leader Electrical to oversee the direct labour and contractors delivery of all electrical PPM and reactive maintenance within time and budget constraints.

The postholder will be expected to report and support the Team Leader Electrical Maintenance to plan and organise the provision of a comprehensive electrical maintenance and repair service within the Directorate of Estates and Facilities. The postholder will supervise up to 12 Electricians and assistants and may also be required to supervise 7 Mechanical Engineers and assistants during times of holidays, sickness and absence. The postholder will also be responsible for the planning, organisation and supervision of electrical maintenance contractors.


The postholder will be required to demonstrate that they have up to date IEE 18th Regulations with amendments. They must also be able to demonstrate they can manage direct labour and contractors and demonstrate that they can communicate positively with all Estates and Facilities Staff, contractors, University of Aberdeen Staff and Students.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 5, £31,396 - £34,980 per annum, with placement according to qualifications and experience.
