Job Purpose

Reporting directly to the Senior Regional Corporate Manager, the Central Community Fundraising & Engagement Assistant will be responsible for providing operational and stewardship support across the Regional Fundraising & Engagement department.

The Central Community Fundraising & Engagement Assistant will be the first point of contact for incoming enquiries and will use relationship fundraising techniques to provide an excellent supporter experience whilst driving fundraising & engagement.

The role holder will also be responsible for developing and delivering key processes, tools and materials that enable staff and supporters to carry out fundraising and engagement activities efficiently, effectively, and compliantly.

Main Accountabilities

The Central Community Fundraising & Engagement Assistant will be responsible for providing operational and stewardship support. Key duties include:

  • Being the first point of contact for Regional Fundraising & Engagement supporters. Using experience and knowledge to provide an excellent supporter experience
  • Ensuring supporters have the fundraising and engagement guidance and materials needed to deliver successful, enjoyable, and compliant activities
  • Playing a lead role in ensuring the accurate and timely recording of departmental income and expenditure. This includes acting as the liaison between volunteer fundraising groups and the organisation’s central Finance team
  • Assisting in the creation and delivery of regular and engaging communications to both internal and external audiences, ensuring data is accurate and contact preferences are adhered to
  • Maintaining the department’s SharePoint site. Ensuring contents remain accurate, up-to-date, engaging, and tidy
  • Providing operational support for key projects and campaigns, including emergency appeals
  • Supporting the stewardship journey, including phone calls, for key supporters as required
  • Coordinating departmental meetings and events

Person Profile

Experience

  • Proven experience of delivering exceptional fundraiser or customer care
  • Confident user of all key Microsoft programmes, including Word, Excel and Outlook

Abilities

  • Ability to establish professional credibility quickly with colleagues, and to interact effectively with staff at all levels and across all departments
  • Experienced relationship manager with ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, supporters and suppliers
  • Ability to prioritise multiple projects and their competing demands

Aptitude

Jobs are positioned within the salary structure on the basis of evaluation. New employees would normally be appointed at the bottom of the grade, however the appointed salary may also take into account therelevant experience a candidate brings to a role.
