Your main duty as a CCTV security officer will be to oversee and manage closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems in order to maintain the property’s and its residents’ safety and security. You will be in charge of watching live video, spotting possible security breaches, and taking the necessary steps to reduce risks. Strong attention to detail, superior analytical abilities, and the capacity for rapid and precise judgment are requirements for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

CCTV Monitoring: Operate and monitor CCTV systems to observe live footage and detect potential security threats or breaches. Maintain constant vigilance over multiple camera feeds and promptly respond to any suspicious activities.

Incident Response: Take immediate action in response to security incidents captured on CCTV, such as theft, vandalism, trespassing, or other unlawful activities. Coordinate with security personnel and notify the appropriate authorities when necessary.

Alarm Monitoring: Monitor alarm systems integrated with CCTV to identify and respond to alarms triggered by unauthorized access, fire, or other emergencies. Follow established protocols to initiate appropriate responses.

Video Review and Analysis: Conduct thorough and accurate review and analysis of recorded CCTV footage to investigate security incidents, identify perpetrators, gather evidence, and support law enforcement investigations when required.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Regularly check the functionality of CCTV cameras, recording equipment, and associated systems. Report any malfunctions or technical issues promptly to ensure uninterrupted surveillance coverage.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of CCTV activities, including incident logs, video footage logs, and any actions taken. Prepare clear and concise reports as required for management, law enforcement, or legal purposes.

Communication and Collaboration: Coordinate with other security personnel, supervisors, and law enforcement agencies as necessary to share information, report incidents, and support collaborative efforts in maintaining a secure environment.

Compliance and Data Protection: Adhere to legal and ethical guidelines regarding the use of CCTV systems and data protection regulations. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and policies, including GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

Training and Awareness: Stay updated on the latest advancements in CCTV technology and surveillance techniques. Participate in training programs to enhance skills in CCTV monitoring, video analysis, and incident response.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in CCTV monitoring or a related security role is preferred.
  • SIA (Security Industry Authority) CCTV license is must.
  • Strong knowledge of CCTV systems, including camera types, video management software, and recording equipment.
  • Excellent observation and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify and assess potential security risks.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and data protection guidelines governing the use of CCTV systems.
  • Effective communication skills to relay information clearly and concisely.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing and documenting CCTV footage.
  • Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions under pressure.
  • Basic computer literacy for operating CCTV systems and generating reports.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
