The Governors of Ribston Hall High School are looking to appoint a positive and enthusiastic person to work as a Catering Assistant.
With experience of working in a school kitchen or similar catering environment, the successful candidate will demonstrate energy and drive to join our busy in-house catering team. This is a physically demanding role and some flexibility is required throughout the year to meet school demands.
You will be a good communicator and demonstrate excellent organisation skills to manage tasks effectively in a busy catering environment. You will be confident in the use of technology including using an electronic till and computer.

Job Description
PURPOSE OF ROLE
To assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals within the school dining hall.
DUTIES
Food preparation
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of food
- Prepare all food items within agreed cooking methods and portion controls
- Implement and maintain the school’s food standards, and work with the Catering
- Ensure the food safety of students with particular and special diets
- Ensure correct use of materials and equipment, and ensure walking areas are kept
- Maintain highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen area, and
- Carry out a deep clean as directed by the Catering Manager
- Ensure compliance with the school’s Health & Safety policy, COSHH regulations and
all members of staff and visitors
- Report immediately any machinery faults to the Catering Manager
- Co-operate with the employer on all issues relating to health, safety and welfare
- Maintain a high standard of personal cleanliness and hygiene
- Serve staff, students and visitors at service time to the required standard and
- Supervise students in the dining hall ensuring good order and discipline in

- Assist in the production and service of special functions, as required
- Attend meetings and training courses as may be required for personal and
- Undertake such other work as may be requested by the Catering Manager up to or
