Part time Catering Assistant - 19 hours per week

University Hospitals Dorset (formally Poole Hospital) is seeking a friendly hardworking, reliable person to support the Catering team to provide freshly cooked food to our patients and staff.

As a member of the catering team you’ll be responsible for providing an efficient, high quality dedicated food and beverage service, operating in compliance with corporate and local policies and procedures.

Whilst you will have experience of working in a similar environment and a Basic Food Hygiene certificate, COSHH and allergen training (or willingness to work towards it), your commitment to customer care, first class service and belief in teamwork are just as important.

Your tasks could include

  • Serving of Patient meals on a Belt system
  • Taking and collecting patient’s trolley from wards
  • Driving an electric tug (full Training given).
  • Using industrial dish washer, this role involves a lot of moving and handling,
  • May include some food preparation to assist in simple food preparation in a chilled and/or frozen working and storage environment
  • Cleaning of the Kitchen

This post requires a flexible approach to hours of work and to meeting the needs of our customers and patients whilst being supportive of the large food service operation at the UHD.

A driving licence would be an advantage but is not essential

This position has a 6 week roster of 4 days working 2 days off
