Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a Category Manager – Indirects who will be responsible for sourcing and Category Management strategy for goods and services across complex categories. In this role you will ensure a balance between cost, service and risk, whilst developing a category and sourcing strategy and policy for specific spend areas, as well as gathering data, consulting with stakeholders and identifying the business needs through detailed source plans. In addition you will line manage and support the Category Buyer(s) and or Assistant Category Managers within their team, delivering defined savings through an impartial but effective supplier management strategy and contract negotiation, actively measuring performance against agreed key performance indicators and service level agreements.

What are we looking for?

You will need to, ideally, be a member level of Professional Institution - CIPS qualified or equivalent and have significant and demonstrable procurement experience of building products procurement gained preferably in construction or civil engineering environment. You must have evidential experience and track record of ‘best in class’ supply chain delivery in a similar role as well as being experienced at building a new team and/or working within a greenfield environment. If this sounds like you and you are also an experienced Senior Buyer/Purchasing Manager with suppliers nationally then it would be great to hear from you!
