Job Summary

Horizon is recruiting for an experienced Cash Accountant with a highly accurate, efficient, and thorough approach to manage all aspects of the function, including company bank accounts and cashflows.

Job Purpose

Management of the UK Cash functions and multiple currency accounts, ensuring accurate postings and reconciliations. Detailed and accurate cashflow analysis used for management purposes. Support the finance team and assist with month end reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform weekly bank reconciliations, posting transactions to the ledgers including Customer accounts
  • Weekly cash reporting, highlighting funding requirements to management team.
  • Ownership of the cash function, highlighting areas of risk/improvement, liaising with the local Banks for all account matters.
  • Company credit card management including obtaining relevant receipts and posting transactions to the ledger
  • Issue Customer refunds where required
  • Participate in audit activity, ensure journal backup documentation is complete, organized, and easily accessible and applicable accounts are reconciled.
  • Ensure absolute accuracy of GL accounting and all financial reports.
  • Maintain compliance with financial controls
  • Communicate potential risks and opportunities when identified
  • Maintain the financial ledger in compliance with Group Accounting Policy, local tax codes, government regulations and filing requirements.
  • Book ledger entries to reflect financial activities in compliance with above (may include some or all of: accruals, debtors, accounts receivables, accounts payables, expenses, cash, tax)
  • Other ad hoc responsibilities as determined by the Finance Manager.
  • Essential Competencies & Requirements
  • Highly accurate and good attention to detail
  • Experience of handling multiple bank accounts and cashflows
  • Experience of liaising with external Bank Account Managers
  • Able to work well on own initiative
  • Hands on approach to various tasks
  • Experience of Microsoft Office with good/Intermediate level knowledge of Excel
  • Working towards an Accounting qualification.
  • Strong communication skills.

  • Previous experience of Microsoft Dynamics AX
  • Experience of multiple currency accounts
