About the role

This is a key role within the school, to ensure there is a safe and legal environment for all students, staff and visitors. This is a hands on role, requiring a range of practical and DIY skills. IT skills would also be desirable - but training will be provided. The post holder will work closely with the Principals and Senior Leadership Teams to ensure a well maintained learning environment for our students.

There are two roles available, both working across the two school sites as required. Job share / part time / flexible working requests will be considered.

Role 1: Full-time – 37 hours per week, 52 weeks a year

Role 2: Part-time – 10 hours per week, 52 weeks a year

Who we are looking for

  • Good numeracy, literacy and written and verbal communication skills

  • Practical skills required for the role – Competent at basic building repairs and maintenance, ability to use industrial, electrical & mechanical equipment, ability to cope with the physical demands of the role
  • Ability to understand and apply Health and Safety Regulations
  • Be able to plan, manage and prioritise workload effectively, whilst remaining flexible to respond to urgent requests
  • Enthusiastic and conscientious, proactive and flexible
  • Ability to be flexible and work as part of a team or individually as required
  • Have a sense of pride in caring for our schools and their surroundings
  • Good, competent IT skills (training can be provided if required)
