Bournville Gardens Village part of Extracare Charitable Trust are now recruiting for a Care Supervisor who is a driven and caring professional

to join the team on a temporary basis.

Hours: 15 hours per week

Contract type: 12 months fixed-term contract.

Rate: £13.03 - £13.56 per hour.

You will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a supervisory capacity within a Domiciliary Care environment.

This role requires a high level of flexibility to meet the needs of the care service. You will work alongside the Care Manager to ensure residents receive an excellent care service,

by developing individual care plans and encouraging optimum independence.

You will ensure your care staff (Personal Support Assistants) are well trained, motivated and encouraged to realise their full potential by carrying out regular meetings, appraisals and supervisions.

This is an exciting role for which you will need to possess strong communication and leadership qualities.

Your main responsibilities as our Domiciliary Care Supervisor include:

  • Shift management which will include dealing with any emergency situations.
  • Carrying out care delivery monitoring, medication audits and care plan audits to ensure a high-quality service is being delivered and working within the regulatory framework.
  • Obtaining service user feedback and implement any required improvements.
  • Your role will also involve carrying out appraisals, regular staff supervision, inductions, recruitment, investigations, disciplinary and grievances handling.
  • Undertake at least 2 on call duties per week and to cover for other Care Supervisors when required.
  • Assessment of residents developing care plans and associated paperwork.
  • Conducting care plan reviews.

To become our Domiciliary Care Supervisor we are looking for the following:

  • It is essential that you have experience of working in an Adult domiciliary care agency environment at supervisory level for a minimum of 12 months and preferably hold a QCF Level 3 qualification in Adult Health and Social Care.
  • You will be used to working with other multi-disciplinary agencies and negotiating the best care for your residents.
  • You will be proficient in IT with particular competence using MS Office packages.

Job Requirements:

  • Rights to work in the UK
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with elderly.
  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 or QCF Diploma Level 2 or Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience gained in a similar role
  • Enthusiastic with a can do attitude to make a difference
  • Personable with ability to build rapport with residents
