Job Title:Café and Farm Shop Assistant
Location: Easter Anguston Farm, Peterculter, Aberdeenshire
Hours: Friday-Sunday (18 Hours per week)

Purpose of Job:
To provide a quality and friendly catering and front of house service to customers and visitors to the farm alike throughout the summer opening times and at quieter periods potentially working with the trainees on some of the farm activities.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide a professional, friendly and efficient front of house service to all customers and visitors including schools and corporate groups visiting Easter Anguston Farm.
  • Be prepared where needed to work with trainees with learning difficulties attending the farm as part of a group activity on various activities
  • Contribute to effective planning and re ordering by taking an active role in the daily running including inventory, basic stock control etc
  • Commercial till sales and credit card transactions in both Café and adjoining Shop as required
  • Set and clear tables in the café and garden area as required
  • Help maintain the cleanliness of the general café building internal facilities
  • Be aware of health and safety in the work environment at all times and our duty of care to the attending trainees
  • Any other reasonable duties within the post-holders’ capabilities

Essential:

  • Basic food preparation skills
  • Customer service

Desirable:

  • Appreciation of health and safety issues, including infection control
  • Catering experience in a customer service environment
  • Basic care environment experience

Key Skills/Aptitudes:

Essential:

  • Good communication abilities
  • Able to work in a team
  • Understand and be able to deliver high standards in Customer service

Desirable:

  • Outgoing personality
  • Some basic farming or animal interest
