The role

Due to increased workload we are seeking to recruit a CAD Technician to join our Telecoms team. The successful candidate will undertake the production of rail telecommunication CAD design (SISS, Ops Comms etc), whilst working within a dedicated telecoms engineering team.

Being an experienced CAD Technician at Amey Consulting, you’ll have the chance to focus on the parts of your role you most enjoy. Whether it’s further training to broaden your skills, working more closely with your clients to build relationships, or having the opportunity to develop leadership capabilities, our environment is one of collaboration and support where the direction of your career is led by you.

In a typical week you will:

• Assist Engineers with the production of technically sound design solutions, including all associated reporting and administration
• Assist with inspection work, feasibility studies, report preparation, cost estimating, Quality Assurance responsibilities
• Prepare and assist with drawing production
• Assist with preparation of technical documentation
• Deal with project related correspondence
• Maintain high technical standards, consistent with the project brief under direction from the Engineer
• Assist the Network Team with site supervision duties when required
• Assist with compliance to the relevant HSEQ legislation, particularly CDM regulations

We want to hear from you if:

• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering design discipline
• Experience of AutoCAD and MicroStation
• Experience in rail CAD design preferred but not essential
