Com Group Ltd is an industry leader in the mobile communications sector, acquiring and building sites for Mobile Operators across the UK.

If you are highly motivated and hardworking, with an aptitude for CAD Design, the ability to learn quickly and the drive to succeed, then Beacon have an outstanding opportunity for a high calibre Junior CAD Designer to join our busy team based in Tavistock in Devon

In this role we are looking for a self-starter, someone who can learn quickly with the potential to develop into a topflight CAD designer in their own right

The purpose of the role is to produce General Arrangement drawings and Detailed Design drawings for telecommunication base stations using AutoCAD on Streetworks, Greenfield and Rooftop sites. The role entails applying project specifications to site specific situations, which means every design is different, with its own set of challenges.

The main duties will include:

  • Producing accurate and legible drawings using the AutoCAD system to the highest quality
  • Amending drawings where necessary
  • Viewing and interpreting all site photos correctly
  • Reviewing the Multi Site Visit with the Engineer who visited the site prior to starting the drawings to ensure correct interpretation and to capture all requirements
  • Liaison with Build team when required on site design issues and changes
  • Compliance with CDM regulations
  • Ensuring product knowledge is up to-date
  • Working to deadlines and provide reliable forecasts

Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience of AutoCAD in a telecoms role desirable
  • Analytical mind to be able to interpret site surveys and existing drawings and to make the correct changes for various site upgrade projects.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail striving for the highest levels of accuracy and quality in all drawings.
  • Ability to work well and accurately under pressure
  • Team player who is also able to work well using their own initiative.
  • Highly organised, able to deliver work to the highest standard first time every time

This is a fast-paced industry so we are looking for candidates who thrive under pressure and are still able to hit deadlines and exceed customer expectations.

Salary: Dependant on age and experience

Own transport required, public transport links are limited
