CAD Technician

Air Control Industries Ltd is an established and successful engineering business based in Axminster, East Devon.

We are looking for a CAD Technician to join our growing team.

The main responsibilities for the role will include 3D CAD, bill of materials, production support and drawing work as and when required. The successful applicant will also provide information into a production system. This role will help an experienced technical mechanical engineering team in the design & configuration of varied products for manufacture.

You will receive training to produce configurable 3D CAD models and drawings to customer requirements. This role involves producing part drawings & material lists to support team members in producing modular & configurable design outputs.

The hours are Monday – Thursday 08.15 – 17.00 and Friday 08.15 – 12.45 (37.5 hours per week)

The position would suit someone with:

• Experience in a similar role
• Proficient in 3D CAD and engineering drawings
• Knowledge of bill of materials entry into a production system
• An interest in Mechanical Engineering
• The desire to learn as well as well as share knowledge with others
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret technical drawings
• Problem solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Competence in Microsoft Office programmes

The position would suit someone who is:

• Customer-focused and keen to help people
• Experienced in an administrative or customer service-type role. Full on-the-job training will be given
• Able to effectively communicate with a variety of individuals at all levels, verbal and written, through different channels
• Confident in all the Microsoft packages, particularly Word and Excel
• Organised and shows attention to detail
• Able to multitask effectively and prioritize a high volume of different tasks
