About the Role:As a Buying Analyst you will work closely with the Senior Buying team to ensure that all 3 pillars of sales, stock and margin are monitored and that the wider teams are provided with the necessary data to achieve the required performance standards.Responsibilities:
  • Analysing and providing valuable insight into company performance vs budget.
  • Ensure department turnover, profit and margin is on target vs company objectives and providing data to Seniors for reviewing.
  • Provide meaningful reports and insights, recommending appropriate actions, with the aim of enhancing and protecting margin, sales and keeping stock on target.
  • Conduct investigations as directed by the Head of Department into identified areas of concern related to profit, sales and stock.
  • Provide feedback, findings and make recommendations for improved processes and procedures related to company department targets.
  • Assist as directed in undertaking competitor analysis.
  • Attending ad-hoc buying appointments with buyers head of department to ensure that any data that is needed is provided within given timeframes.
Requirements
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks
  • Proven experience in measuring performance
  • Demonstratable commercial awareness
  • High level of analytical skills
  • Excellent team player
  • Self-starter, motivated and enthusiastic
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Proven experience in communicating with colleagues of all levels.
  • Proven commercial experience of trading in a fast paced and responsive environment
  • Good judgement and decision making skills
  • Keen eye for detail.
