We are delighted to be working with a reputable company who have a vacancy for an experienced Buyer / Assistant Buyer. Reporting to the Senior Buyer, your key responsibilities will include negotiating and purchasing materials with suppliers, producing cost analysis and ensuring costings forecasts are adhered to, raising purchase orders, monitoring suppliers and ensuring performance targets are met and being the procurement lead on construction projects. Qualifications/Experience The successful candidate will have relevant experience and a proven track record preferably within the residential housing sector and should be able to show experience and knowledge of tendering and contracting policies to achieve best value. A full driving licence is essential. Skills The successful candidate will need to be a confident, strong and experienced Buyer with proven negotiation skills and have the ability to be proactive in a fast-paced business environment. The ability to work under pressure as part of a team along with computer literacy on Microsoft Office products is also essential. Attention to detail and good communication skills will be vital in order to provide a first class supply chain environment
