- Managing a portfolio of spend categories to ensure the availability of all components in alignment with production schedules and client demands.
- Overseeing the complete procurement process, from initial inquiries to invoice settlement. All procurement activities will align with SAP MRP requisitions and other authorised inputs while staying within agreed financial parameters.
- Timely communication of any matters that could affect production plans and client requisites.
- Formulating strategies for the efficient management of present and future supply chains. This includes conducting supplier evaluations, establishing schedules for supplier visits and audits, managing contracts, long-term agreements, and service level agreements with key suppliers.
- Monitoring shifts in supply market circumstances that could potentially impact the organisation and reporting these developments to the Supply Chain Manager in a prompt manner.
- Initiating and spearheading initiatives crucial to the business, focused on enhancing value for money and cost reduction across various expenditure categories encompassing materials, components, subcontracting, and indirect spending.
- Supporting ongoing business improvement endeavours and ensuring timely execution of planned actions.
- Ensuring ongoing accuracy of databases such as SAP and supplier databases. This involves maintaining approved supplier listings, procurement parameters, delivery schedules, and supplier performance records.
- Upholding compliance with all company procedures and protocols.
- Attending meetings and delivering requisite reports.
- An applicable Bachelor’s degree.
- Noteworthy procurement experience within a manufacturing setting.
- An engineering background, with adeptness in interpreting engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in procuring raw materials, castings, forgings, and bar stock.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
